American Planning Association (APA)

2015 Award for Excellence in Sustainability

Transformations, Inc. won the 2015 award for Excellence in Sustainability, Sustainable Development Project for the Housing Pilot Project in Devens, Massachusetts.

US Green Building Council MA Chapter

2012 Innovation in Green Design

In 2012, The Massachusetts Chapter of the US Green Building recognized Transformations Inc. with its 2012 Innovation in Green Design award. This award is given to projects that exemplify innovative and sustainable design.

One of the final homes Transformations constructed actually scored a negative thirty-six (-37) on the Home Energy Rating System Index (HERS). A home with a -37 HERS generates enough renewable energy to fuel the home for the entire year as well as power a plug-in electric vehicle for up to 30,000 miles a year.

For Excellence in Private Sector Leadership

Transformations Inc. brought together a team that surpassed expections by designing and building an affordable three-bedroom home ("The Needham") which produces more energy than it uses.

US Green Building Council

Gold Level of Certification

Transformations Inc. achieved the USGBC Gold level of certification in the LEED Green Building Rating System for 5 Penny Lane in Townsend, MA.

New England Joint Management Committee (JMC)

ENERGY STAR Builder Achievement Award

Transformations, Inc. received the ENERGY STAR Builder Achievement Award in the “Custom Home” category.  The award-winning project, Marla Circle Lakeview Avenue, is located in Tyngsborough, MA and is a subdivision of five single family homes. Each house incorporates a 2.4 Kilowatt photovoltaic system, low VOC paint and pre-finished oak flooring, low impact development storm water techniques, and high performance furnaces and windows.

Recognized as a builder participating in the LEED for Homes Pilot Demonstration, with a commitment to actively promoting the transformation of the mainstream home building industry toward more sustainable practices.
